Vanuit het typische Toscaanse heuvellandschap zetten we onze route voort richting de hoofdstad. Via een mooie route bereiken we Rome. Vanwege de extreme warmte, en een lange dag, pakken we voor het gemak opnieuw een B&B. Na ons geïnstalleerd te hebben gaan we op zoek naar een eettentje in de buurt. Bella Italia, het blijft een geweldig gevoel wanneer ik de grens passeer met deze Italiaanse pk’s, een gevoel van thuiskomen. Een prachtige route brengt ons vanuit de Simplonpas zuidelijker. De heerlijke kronkelwegen door de bergen langs kabbelende beekjes veranderen langzaam in glooiende wegen die ons over heuvels leiden.
Na de Panigale in reismodus getransformeerd te hebben, is het eindelijk zover. De trip kan beginnen.
